Rudy Santos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The family of a Filipina doctor, who was killed in last Monday’s car crash in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, returned home Saturday night without her remains.

Nelson Bunyi and his two daughters, who survived the accident, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 10:07 p.m. on a private plane from Shanghai.

Airport authorities said the Bunyis were assisted by Globan Aviation personnel upon their arrival at NAIA.

The family was on vacation in Beijing when tragedy struck.

A car plowed into a crowd in Tiananmen Square and exploded, killing Dr. Rizalina Bunyi and four others.

The accident left 40 people injured, including her husband and their daughters.

The Philippine Medical Association earlier appealed for government’s help in repatriating Bunyi’s remains.
