Guam delegation to travel to Manila for pope's visit

The Philippine Star

HAGATNA, Guam — A delegation from Guam is traveling to Manila for Pope Francis' visit there.

The pope is expected to arrive in the Philippines on Thursday and stay through next Monday.

The Pacific Daily News (http://bit.ly/1z1il3t) reports a delegation of seminarians and priests left Guam for the Philippines last week for a retreat. They will head to Manila for the pope's visit afterward.

The five seminarians come from the St. John Paul the Great Archdiocesan Seminary of Guam.

Father Mike Crisostomo says the delegation worked hard to raise money to see the pope ever since his visit to the Philippines was announced in November.

The Philippines is the largest Roman Catholic country in Asia and the third-largest in the world.
