Proenza schouler x MAC
MANILA, Philippines - So, I totally trekked to Lane Crawford in Hong Kong to try and get first dibs on the Riri x MAC collection, only to have the salesladies tell me that it would be out on Oct. 2, which was after I left HK. Apparently, half of the collection is already online soldout, so good luck getting your fix, makeup junkies! If you miss out on this collab, you can at least look forward to the next: MAC has already announced that their next collaboration will be with Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the designers behind one of our favorite brands ever, Proenza Schouler. “We wanted to create something that the Proenza Schouler woman could relate to off the runway, and the MAC brand is so deeply rooted in fashion that we knew they would understand our vision,†explained Proenza Schouler’s designers. Since the collection will be released in April 2014, all we know is that it will include lipsticks, lip pencils, Pro Longwear eyeliners, nail lacquers, a 129SE powder brush and a new product called Ombre Face Powders. Excited yet? According to Refinery29, “Inspired by one of Proenza Schouler’s past collections, the collaboration packaging will be extremely unique.†Riri who?
Naughty or nice?
For their Holiday 2013 collection and 17th artist collaboration, Shu Uemura teamed up with iconic Japanese artist Takashi Murakami on a new color collection called “6HP (Six Heart Princesses)â€, after the Japanese polar anime genre of the same name. “I have collaborated with fashion brands (such as Louis Vuitton) in the past and I have experience extracting the culture of Japanese animation and fusing them into new products,†the artist told WWD. “Of my different works, Six Heart Princess is the one that fits best with this collaboration because it is the most animation-oriented project of my many projects. I also wanted to explore the desire of transformation by looking back to the history of princess animation.†The 14-piece collection will delight cosplay lovers everywhere with its limited-edition set of makeup palettes eyeliners and lip colors. Prices range from P1,000 for the Murakami-designed S-curler up to P3,500 for jeweled false eyelashes. Locally, the entire collection will be available in stores in Nov. 1.
