Style Origin debuts at Centrio Mall

MANILA, Philippines - CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines — Held last Saturday, the first-ever Style Origin at the Centrio Mall in Cagayan de Oro City more than inspired imagination among the audience: with Phoemela Baranda hosting and girl-of-the-moment Julia Barretto walking down the ramp as the grand finale, the fashion show inspired near hysteria in the crowd, creating a wall of sound that reverberated throughout the mall.

Opened just last November, Centrio Mall has quickly become the new shopping and dining hotspot in CDO. Hence, it’s fitting that just past its sixth month mark, the mall celebrates how it has raised retail experience in the city by putting together a fashion presentation that features some of the latest items from nationwide and local clothing and accessories brands. Attended by CDO’s growing number of style bloggers — some of them so seriously trendy they’ll fit right in with the Manila trendsetters — the show provided a glimpse into how the retail and fashion scene of the city has evolved with the new developments that continuously pop up downtown, even as local folks keep the friendly, laidback vibe their place is known for. Centrio Mall’s Style Origin is also an indication of what lies ahead: that Cagayan de Oro is ready to play in the major fashion league.
