Turning on the bright lights
In time for summer, top Japanese skincare and makeup brand Shu Uemura unraveled a passion-filled night of beauty, fashion and the arts. Business development manager Nina Solano welcomed Manila’s fashion-forward scenesters, from different creative fields, to witness a tribute to the beauty of life seen through the world of art and fashion combined.
The main highlight was the collaboration with some of Manila’s top artists who exhibit their interpretations on the art of beauty, inspired by some of the brand’s most popular philosophies. Of course, the night wouldn’t be complete without ladies parading their trendy “mini” ensembles, all complemented by eye-catching lip color — just in time for the upcoming hot season.
Juana Manahan-Yupangco
Juana’s dress is from Hong Kong and she matches it with a bib necklace from Cebu. Her shoes are from Sergio Rossi and bag from Chanel. The aqua eyeshadow and fuchsia lipstick are Shu Uemura.
Nina Solano
Nina wears a Grecian dress designed by Charina Sarte. She accessorizes with Shu topaz diamond lashes, shoes and bag from Charles & Keith and earrings by Cru. Her makeup was done by Angie Cruz of Shu Uemura.
Boom Sason
Boom wears a yellow off-the-shoulder dress and shoes from Lanvin by H&M. Her clutch is by Lally Dizon.
Krystal Lao
Krystal wears a dress from Luca and pairs it with Nine West shoes.
Kat Cruz
Kat dons a dress designed by Jerome Ang to match her vintage Dior bag. She decided to keep her hair and makeup simple to focus on the dramatic dress.
Bianca Roque
Bianca wears a Mango dress with a bag from Louis Vuitton, necklace from Tiffany, and watch and bracelets from Massimo Dutti. She chose a vintage feminine look with a pulled-back hairdo and her go-to red lipstick color.
Rachelle Que
Rachelle’s bodycon dress is by American Apparel and the lace overlay is from Topshop. Her shoes are from Zara, bangles from Forever 21 and bag from Fino. Her makeup is a play of colors that accentuate her eyes and lips.
Nina Estacio
