How bazaar
If candles, massage oils and overrun designer clothes are what you normally find at a bazaar, then you’re obviously stuck in a rut. At the recent Urban Bazaar held at the Rockwell Tent, we literally went through racks and racks of outfits, overflowing trays of accessories and more than hundreds of shoes, all in the latest designs and trends. Most of these up-and-coming entrepreneurs don’t have a freestanding store, relying instead on their Multiply sites, and, of course, through bazaars. Smart move. And no, they don’t buy from Bangkok and resell; the owners themselves manufacture the clothes, shoes and accessories locally.
Just a quick rundown on the best bazaar finds we’ve found: the designs of Sole are predominantly colored booties with cut-outs, while Renegade Folk pays homage to all things trendy (note their two-toned brogues, neon-colored heels and strappy designs). Katrice Wear is a delightful find that showcases matching mother-and-daughter outfits, so if you want your kid to be fasyon, you know where to go. BC Manila playfully constructs one-piece outfits in jersey with their 12-way dress as the brand’s bestseller. We certainly can’t get enough of our accessory fix: Glamaccessories uses a lot of stones as its main feature, making the collection cohesive with wire trimmings. And, of course, never leave home without a belt around your waist — it just completes any outfit. Cinutra brings waist-huggers to another level with fascinating designs — stuff made out of leather and studs, stuff you normally can’t find anywhere.
