Terra incognita: Travel panoramas by Derek Tumala
Derek Tumala is a man of the world – literally. Directly translating to “unknown land,†“Terra Incognita,†his photo exhibit, promises its viewers a window to the world and a dose of wanderlust. It opened yesterday, but will continue to run this weekend at Big Bad Wolf PH in Bonifacio Global City.
Swerve City: Deftones night
Brought to Manila by Solid! and Red Ninja Productions, this tribute to the alternative band Deftones anticipates their May 26 concert in World Trade Center, Pasay, tomorrow, May 4. It will feature performances by Diachroma, Jejaview, Earthmover, Similar Objects, The Butchercons, Robin Nievera, and Mad Hatter Day.The show will be held tomorrow at 9 p.m. at SaGuijo Café, Makati, the night promises voices that will — as their single Swerve City goes — travel through the air.
Nomama Ramen pop-up kitchen
Ramen is all the rage, and Quezon City’s Nomama restaurant knows it. Their upcoming pop-up kitchen features a menu arranged by chef Him Uy de Baron and serves a variety of desserts, salads, and ramen. Free Comic Book Day
Free Comic Book Day, arguably the biggest comic book event in the country, is back. Fully Booked and Comic Odyssey are handing out a free comic per person in participating branches, while three free comics per person will be given at their High Street branch. The people who brought you Irie Sunday and Dubplate Manila now present Boom Bap Friday in a night that celebrates ’90s hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, and — of course — a healthy dose of boom bap. It will be held tonight at B-Side, The Collective, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
