It may be the last month of summer, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t play the part of a bronzed goddess. For ’07, summer colors are inspired by a bronzy sunset, color-popping tropical foliage and sultry orchids. Gela Laurel, chief makeup artist of Lancôme Paris here in the Philippines, teaches us how to achieve these three looks.
Beach babe: Gold standard |
Achieving this look is easy. Simply dab concealer only on the parts needed such as under the eyes, around the nostrils and spots with blemishes. With a large natural bristle brush, apply bronzer on contours of the cheeks, temples, forehead and if you have a strong chin apply there too. Conveniently, the Lancôme Bambou Powder bronzer is packaged good enough for both your face and body. Since the skin is the highlight of this look, the eyes won’t need a lot of work; just smudge the waterproof eyeliner around the eyes and apply a light coat of waterproof mascara on curled eyelashes.
To complement the entire look, finish it off with a rich caramel-colored gloss that is perfect for the summer. For this look use Lancôme Nectar glace, our limited-edition lip-gloss that leaves an icy feeling and has a plumping effect in 09 Chocolat Sumbawa.
Orchid gaze: Getting cheeky |
For nights out at the beach try using sweet tropical colors on your eyes. For this one I used an icy silvery-lilac shade (Ombre Glacee 02 Rose Bali) to have a sweet sexy look Apply a purple waterproof eyeliner around the rims and smudge. You can intensify the color more by applying a purple eye shadow and topping it with Ombre Glacee to have a consistent finish.
A pink nude lip will complement the eyes. For this one I just dabbed a thin coat of nectar glace Lancôme 08 Beige Letea.
This calls for a less shiny finish and a golden tan complexion. Start by applying a good base like your favorite tinted moisturizer, then brush Lancôme Bambou Powder bronzer on your face and neck.
The coral-colored lip is the highlight of this look. First line your lips with a peachy nude color then, with a lip brush, spread the liner evenly leaving the center faded for a pouty look. Apply a good amount of nectar glace gloss. I used 07 Orange Barbade for this one.
