Supermodel Verns Buckley has been seen all over Asia, doing commercials in the Philippines and print ads in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and China. Those are, of course, all aside from her various ramp modeling engagements. Quite a feat for the 18-year-old half-British, half-Filipina beauty? Nah! It’s a piece of cake.

Born in the Marshall Islands near Hawaii, Verns will woo you with her American accent but will further surprise you with her homegrown charm having spent a lot of time in Cebu before moving to Manila. She’s actually Cebuana.

For a mannequin, Verns possesses all that one needs to be called "sexy"—long and shapely legs, a curvaceous and svelte figure, pouty yet gorgeous lips, and a seductive pair of eyes. But these oh-so-alluring traits aren’t what you readily notice about Verns upon meeting this loquacious young chick. Mostly because these gorgeous attributes are overpowered by her boisterous and infectious laugh. She’s easy-going and very personable—to think Verns Buckley is sexy would be just plain malicious.

But when asked to pose sexy for the camera, the entire friendly, childlike glow disappears and out comes a femme fatale who knows how to use every inch of her body to exude sex appeal. Her eyes take on a sharp look, so enthralling and you can’t stop looking at her. The nod of her head, extension of her legs, and arch of her back can and will inevitably excite any guy’s imagination.

But in between shots, the lady tiger disappears, and the smiling Verns Buckley is back, making jokes and sticking out her tongue at her captivated audience. She doesn’t consider herself sexy. Of the thought, she dismisses with a chuckle, "Gutom lang ’yan!"

"What is the first thing that comes to mind when I say sex?" I asked. She quickly replies, "Something my mom wouldn’t want me to talk about?"

"Oh, I can be wild," she states, "but I am more comical and funny than sexy, I think."

What does sexy mean to you?

Basically, it is the way you feel; an attitude. Personally, sexy is a vibe that you get. It isn’t just the way a person looks, but how he or she projects it.

What makes a man sexy?

A nice chest. And the eyes, they have to have nice eyes; the kind that could lure.

What makes a woman sexy?

Big boobs and a tight-ass! The stereotypical answer. That’s why I don’t consider myself sexy. I don’t have both.

What do you think makes you sexy and why?

Like I said, I don’t consider myself sexy. I just feel it inside when I have to project it when I’m on the ramp or for a shoot. It’s all part of the role I play.

What do you find the sexiest part of your body?

My eyes. I think I could catch someone with just the way I look at them. I try not to highlight them with too much makeup. I just let them be.

Who do you find sexy?

Vin Diesel! He’s got a hot body with a bad-boy attitude. I like bad boys. I don’t like dirty boys, okay? But they’ve got to be bad!

What is the sexiest thing anyone has told you?

Unfortunately, people take me seriously. So nothing, none yet, or maybe someone has but it didn’t work!

What attire makes you feel sexy?

Anything with animal prints or tight pants. I’m a leather person, so leather, for me, is very sexy.

What kind of music makes you feel sexy?

Gothic music, definitely. I have a certain side to me that’s eccentric. If a guy wants me to get sexy, he has to fill the room with candles and put scented oil and then play gothic music.

What’s the sexiest movie scene for you?

You know what? I can’t think of one right now, but I can say I find some print ads really sexy, like the Christian Dior ads. When they focus on the lips or when they shoot the guys with their bodies in oil or sweat.

If food is a metaphor for sex, what kind of "food" are you?

I’d be oysters, definitely fresh, not baked! But if a man is involved, then I’ll be strawberries and he’ll be the cream. If you know what I mean!
