MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday raised the alert level in Israel and the West Bank amid threats to security posed by the continued conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The DFA said the two areas are now under alert level 2 (restriction phase), which is issued when there are real threats to the life, security and property of Filipinos arising from internal disturbance, instability and external threats.

"Filipinos are instructed to restrict non-essential movements, avoid open spaces, and prepare for evacuation," the DFA said.

The agency said it will continue to closely monitor developments in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Meanwhile, alert level 4 (mandatory repatriation) remains raised in Gaza.

"The Philippine government continues to implement mandatory repatriation of Filipino nationals from Gaza," the DFA said.
