NEW DELHI — A top Indian official says President Barack Obama has canceled the end of his trip to India to fly to Saudi Arabia in the wake of the death of its late ruler.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, says Obama will fly from India on Tuesday, skipping a planned trip that day to the Taj Mahal. The official spoke anonymously because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Obama had been scheduled to return to Washington late Tuesday afternoon. He arrives in New Delhi on Sunday for talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to be the chief guest in India's Republic Day parade on Monday.
