WATCH: This happens to your body when you eat too much

Alixandra Caole Vila - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Aside from the dearly gifts and flickering lights, Christmas season also brings stuffed stomach.

On a season like this, wining and dining on a table filled with a range of appetizing and comforting food while having a pleasant conversation with your family is a typical scenario. While we all enjoy having these conversations, the overeating that comes with it might lead us to having physical discomfort or worse it might put us in a state of food coma.

In a two-minute video, the American Chemical Society’s YouTube channel “Reactions” explains why our body feels full after going on a binge eating.  According to the video, while the stomach has the capacity to stretch more up to a size of a burrito, it squeezes against your other organs making your abdomen feel fuller and tighter inside. The video also mentions acid as the major culprit of your bloated stomach.
