Video of the Day: Grandfather sheds tears after receiving puppy from family

MANILA, Philippines – I hope you all have a handkerchief or tissue within your reach, because this video is a massive tearjerker.

A bereaved Belgian grandfather was brought to tears after being given a puppy terrier by his family.  The adorable puppy named ‘Snoopy,’ was given as a gift to help him recover from losing his wife of 63 years and his beloved puppy all within a span of four months.

The grandson, Davy Vanhaesendonck decided to film the heart-warming moment with his grandfather,  Francois Vermeir and posted it in YouTube. It became viral in just a matter of minutes.

The overwhelmed grandfather can be heard talking in Flemish, but we do not need to speak Flemish to feel how much emotional the moment is.  

The video was captioned as:

“After a marriage of 63 years together, grandma past away on July 26th 2014 after a short, but intense disease. Grandpa also lost his doggy all within 4 months. To give him energy and the courage to continue his life... We gave him this present. A moment filled with emotions!”
