MANILA, Philippines - Senatorial candidate Edgardo "Sonny" Angara aims to legislate measures that address issues confronting the education and labor sectors in case he wins a seat in the upper chamber.
"In education, there's always been a challenge how to balance accessibility... along with the quality," Angara said.
He added that the challenge of keeping skilled workers in the country remains, with migrant Filipino workers seeking opportunities elsewhere in the world.
The incumbent Aurora representative said his young age (40 years old) and extensive legislative experience give him an advantage over the 32 other senatorial aspirants seeking a slot in the midterm poll on May 13.
"There is that mix of youth and experience and I think that puts me in a position to speak when you talk about generational issues like jobs and education," he said.
