It was a night of fine music as Czech soprano Noema Erba showed off her flawless vocal range as she performed the best of European opera at the Dusit Thani Manila.
Featuring compositions by Dvorak, Lehar, Mozart, Puccini, and Verdi, "The Jewels of European Opera" was a treat to everyone present as Erba, a first time visitor to the Philippines, joined tenor Conrado Ong III and pianist, Professor Augusto Espino in serenading those present.
The "by-invitation only" event, made possible by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in partnership with Travelife Magazine and Dusit Thani Manila, gathered approximately 300 distinguished guests and VIPs from the diplomatic corps, the Philippine arts and culture scene and the like.
Erba, who started singing mostly Czech compositions, exuded confidence as she included songs in English, Italian, and German in her repertoire.
As Erba, Ong III, and Espino finished their second set, the crowd showed their approval by asking for an encore, to which the trio obliged by performing "The Prayer" to send everyone off happy.
