WATCH: Blackpink's Rose tries to teach Bruno Mars Korean

Kristofer Purnell - Philstar.com

SENTOSA, Singapore — The world is absolutely hooked on Filipino-American Bruno Mars and Rose of the Korean girl group Blackpink's collaboration "APT."

The song dropped last October 18 and as of writing already has 34.7 million streams on Spotify while its music video is nearing 90 million views on YouTube.

The track is inspired by the "apartment game," a traditional drinking game played in Korea, which Bruno and Rose play in the music video.

"Don't you want me like I want you, baby? Don't you need me like I need you now? Sleep tomorrow, but tonight, go crazy. All you gotta do is just meet me at the..." goes the pre-chorus, which leads to a repition of "apateu."

Both Bruno and Rose have been sharing snippets of their time together as a way of promoting the new track, including one video where Bruno tries to speak Korean.

Uploaded on Rose's TikTok account, Bruno asked what was the Korean translation of "Hey everybody, I hope you enjoy 'APT'."

Rose tries to give the translation for Bruno to repeat, however, the latter could only say "APT manh-i" and kept fumbling "saranghae juseyo," much to the amusement of Rose and their companions offscreen.

Despite Bruno's attempts, the two end the video making a heart with their hands.

"APT." is Rose's first release since announcing her debut solo album coming later this year. The recently released collab song is Bruno's second surprise collaboration for 2024 after teaming up with Lady Gaga for the chart hit "Die With A Smile."
