More cops finish criminal investigation training
CEBU, Philippines — Policemen from Central Visayas recently underwent a training program on advanced criminal investigation techniques to enhance public safety and improve crime solution efficiency.
Last December 20, the trainees completed the 35-day Criminal Investigation Course for police investigators. They were trained in crime scene processing, evidence collection, interviewing techniques, and the legal aspects of criminal investigations, all designed to equip them with the skills to handle real-world challenges effectively.
The program took place over several weeks and culminated in a formal ceremony held at the Police Regional Office-7 Multi-Purpose Hall in Camp Sergio Osmeña Sr.
The closing ceremony was graced by PRO-7 officer-in-command Police Brigadier General Roy Parena, who commended the policemen’s dedication and highlighted the critical role that proper training plays in effective policing and community engagement.
“As a police officer, leadership extends beyond merely commanding others; it involves inspiring and guiding them while demonstrating unwavering integrity in all your actions. Carry the lessons you have learned from this training with pride and apply them diligently in every investigation and decision you make,” Parena said during his remarks.
The ceremony also included the presentation of various awards and commendations to participants who excelled during their training. Recognitions included awards for the top three graduates in their class, leadership and service awards, the highest scores in the comprehensive examinations, the best output for station deployment, and acknowledgment of the most junior member of the class.
From 2011 to the present, PRO-7 has graduated a total of 3,415 officers from the Criminal Investigation Course. (CEBU NEWS)
