Bambol saddened by Guarte killing

MANILA, Philippines —  Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino expressed sadness over the death of obstacle course racing (OCR) champion Mervin Guarte last Tuesday.

“He’s a big loss to Philippine sports, for obstacle sports racing and athletics in particular,” Tolentino said yesterday. “I am hoping that the crime will be solved soon.”

Tolentino said he’ll reach out to Calapan City Mayor Malou Flores-Morillo and Oriental Mindoro Gov. Humerlito Dolor regarding the killing of the two-time SEA Games gold medalist.
