CAUP to hold 2-day seminar
MANILA, Philippines - The Chess Arbiters Union of the Philippines will hold a two-days chess arbitration seminar on March 6 and 7 at Ramon Magsaysay (Cubao) High School in Cubao.
The seminar is open to all coaches, trainers, public and private school teachers, amateurs, professionals or any private individuals who want to learn the correct and proper way of officiating in chess tournaments.
FIDE International arbiter Gene Poliarco will conduct the lectures on the new FIDE Laws of Chess which was promulgated last July 1, 2014, Manual Swiss Pairing System and Round-Robin Pairing System, Ratings System Computation, Tie-Breaks and Rules on Chess 960 (Fischer Random Chess). Successful attendees will receive Arbiter’s Certificate and will be given a chance to have an on-the-job training in any CAUP supervised tournaments. Current and inactive chess arbiters who are not yet updated in the new FIDE Rules are advised to attend.
Seminar fee is P2,300 which includes manuals on the new FIDE Laws of Chess, handouts, Certificates, Membership IDs and snacks.
