BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A Special Investigation Task Group has been created to probe the strafing of the house of a radio broadcaster in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on September 19.
Superintendent Boots Aseo, Talisay City Police officer-in-charge, said the creation of the SITG was ordered by Senior Supt. Rodolfo Castil, director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
Strafed by two unidentified suspects, who later fled on two motorcycles, Wednesday night was the residence of Rey Siason, an anchorman of 104.7 Muews FM in Talisay City.
Fortunately, Siason, also a former president of the Negros Press Club, was not at his residence, at the time. If he was not delayed in returning home, Siason raised the possibility that the suspects may have been hurt him.
Aseo said they already endorsed the recovered bullet fragments and an empty shell of a .45-caliber pistol to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.
