PRO-6 reshuffles commanders of Iloilo City, Capiz PNP offices

Jennifer P. Rendon - The Freeman

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — The hierarchy of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) had implemented the reshuffling of at least four major positions.

Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, director of the PRO-6, announced the reassignment of Senior Superintendent Henry Biñas, from director of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to head the PRO-6’s Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (RPHRDD), replacing Sr. Supt. Canilo Fuentes.

Fuentes will move out of RPHRDD to take over the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO), replacing its director, Sr. Supt. Samuel Nacion, who will assume as head of the RPHRDD.

Nacion will leave the CPPO to become the new director of the PRO-6’s Regional Headquarters Support Group (RHSG), replacing Sr. Supt. Martin Defensor, who will become the director of the ICPO.

Bulalacao said he is taking out Biñas, a lawyer, from ICPO because he needs the latter’s legal expertise at the RPHRDD. “The move will also give Defensor a chance to lead a command (as the ICPO),” he added.

Defensor is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class 1995, while Biñas belongs to PNPA Class 1994.

Also, Bulalacao explained that Nacion was already overstaying as CPPO chief from the usual two-year tour of duty in a command. “He (Nacion) will be temporary assigned at RHSG while he’s waiting for a chief directorial staff post from another region,” said the PRO-6 top official.

The reshuffling of major positions will take effect on September 15, said Bulalacao who however did not discuss if there would be more posts to be reshuffled soon.
