CEBU, Philippines — Partido Negorense of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and Hugpong Pagbabago of Davao City Mayor Sarah Duterte are expected to coalesce in the coming days after a meeting of both leaders in Davao City over the weekend.
Degamo just came from Davao where he attended a meeting, called for by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) among clusters of provinces, to discuss President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against illegal drugs.
In that meeting, COA rules and regulations were ironed out as far as the use of funds is concerned to enhance the various provincial, city, municipal, and barangay drug councils.
During a lull, Degamo invited Mayor Duterte to be the guest speaker in the forthcoming Buglasan Festival of Festivals of Negros Oriental in October this year, which was welcomed by the latter.
According to the governor, Mayor Duterte cancelled all her schedule on the day of the Buglasan showdown, of which she will be the guest of honor and speaker.
After the invitation, Degamo introduced his Partido Negorense and was happy that Mayor Duterte accepted the proposal for an inter-local coalition with Hugpong Pagbabago.
He said the coalition is an interesting combination that will serve as a vehicle for more developments in Negros Oriental province due to the support of the president's daughter, Mayor Sara Duterte.
