Truck collides with two passenger vans: 26 hurt

CAPOOCAN, LEYTE, Philippines — A wing truck lost its brakes and collided with two incoming passenger vans along the highway at Barangay Cabul-an in Capoocan town of Leyte at around 9:20 a.m. yesterday, injuring 26 persons.

Senior Superintendent Norberto Tuazon, director of the Leyte Police Provincial Office, told The Freeman and The Philippine Star in a phone interview that initial investigations revealed that the wing truck was cruising to the direction of Ormoc City, while the two passenger vans were traveling to Tacloban City.

Some of the injured passengers was rushed to the Carigara District Hospital, while others were transported to hospitals in Tacloban City. (FREEMAN)
