CEBU, Philippines - A 20-year-old single mother was arrested yesterday in a police buy-bust operation at her house in Zone 2 of Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City, with more than 50 grams of shabu seized from her possession.
The arresting team of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, headed by Senior Inspector Richmon Conag, identified the suspect as Christine Mae Ayoma, who is unmarried but with a one-year-old son.
Ayoma told The Freeman, in an interview that she has been the breadwinner of her family, after the death of her father in 2015. She entered into illegal activities and were able to send her brothers and sisters to school because her mother has been jobless.
Ayoma however refused to name her supplier, saying she did not know who has been dropping 100 kilos of shabu in her house every week. She admitted though that she had remitted to the supplier P120,000 this week alone and that she has more collectibles until weekend.
She is now more worried about the fate of her mother, brothers and sisters, and her son.
Meanwhile, 46-year-old Richil Tenebroso, alias Chopos, of Poblacion Ayungon, Negros Oriental was gunned down yesterday noon near the public market by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle.
