CALBIGA, SAMAR, Philippines — An active personnel of the Philippine Army yielded 30 sachets of shabu from his possession during a buy-bust early morning yesterday by combined elements of the Calbiga Police, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and by his own colleagues in the military.

The buy-bust operation was conducted at about 3:25am at Barangay Polangi of this town. Dumdom did not resist arrest and is now in custody of the Calbiga Police, while charges were filed against him immediately yesterday.
Found from Dumdom’s possession were three folded papers containing 11, 10 and 8 sachets respectively of shabu, in addition to the one sachet of shabu bought by a poseur buyer.
Several drug paraphernalia, a cellphone and a motorcycle were also recovered from the suspect.
Police insiders further said the suspect had long been in their watchlist, and had been operating also in Paranas town, which was the suspect’s place of residence.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the 8th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army based in Catbalogan City, in a statement, said the command is not tolerating its personnel who are implicated or involved in illegal drugs.
