PALO, LEYTE, Philippines — The Asian Development Bank had chosen the Saint Paul School of Business and Law, in this town, to conduct a research or survey on the outcome of assistance distributed by various local and international organizations to survivors of super typhoon Yolanda.
SPSBL president Erwin Vincent Alcala told The FREEMAN the results of the survey will be given to different countries around the world as reference for relief and rehabilitation efforts when a similar calamity befell on them.
Alcala clarified the survey and research was aimed at developing a knowledge-product-based on all the assistance and funding provided to Leyte and Samar areas affected by Yolanda in terms of social services, infrastructure, resettlement and livelihood.
He said, the survey results will be summarized to identify best practices and best experiences in the relief and rehabilitation efforts for use of other countries.
The ADB has chosen the school in Leyte due to its record of effectiveness in research, as shown in its partnership before with the Regional Development Council, said Alcala.
Alcala said SPSBL will do the research in coordination with the National Economic Development Authority, the local government units, local government agencies, and the Office of the President. — (FREEMAN)
