TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines — The Bohol Provincial Board approved en masse a resolution requesting for the extension of the term of assignment of Senior Superintendent Dennis Agustin, as director of the Bohol Police Provincial Office.
The resolution, moved by PB Member Abel Damalerio, will be sent to Secretary Mar Roxas of the Department of Interior and Local Government and Director General Ricardo Marquez, Philippine National Police chief.
The “aggressive campaign against illegal drugs under the leadership of Agustin needs to continue to totally rid the province of the menace, which Governor Edgar Chatto considered the root of all evils,” stated the PB resolution.
The PB move coincided with the earlier request of the Provincial Peace and Order Council to extend Agustin’s stint in Bohol.
Upon assumption as BPPO director on August 15, 2013, Agustin hit the ground running with a series of successive raids and buy-bust operations against the illegal drugs trade in Bohol.
Agustin made it a marching order to all chiefs of police in the province to conduct raids and buy-bust operations every week against all drug personalities in the watchlist, both small-time and big-time dealers, provincial officials said. — Angeline Valencia (FREEMAN)
