DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines – An alleged operator of a security agency in this city was arrested by operatives of anti-illegal law enforcement units during a buy-bust operation on Saturday.
Arrested was 47-year-old Nikolai Norman Romero Tantengco, resident of Villanueva Subdivision in Bais City, Negros Oriental, who according to authorities was an alleged level-2 drug pusher and one of the top ten illegal drugs personalities in the province.
According to Senior Inspector Ryan Orapa, head of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operations Task Group, the suspect was a known drug personality in Bais City and allegedly one of the sources of shabu for drug pushers in Dumaguete City.
Tantengco was nabbed at 11:35 a.m. Saturday near the Perpetual Help Church, particularly along San Lorenzo Ruiz Street at Barangay Taclobo, this city, after he delivered one big bulto of shabu to a police poseur-buyer. Also taken from him was the marked money used in the sting.
When arrested, Tantengco also yielded two more bultos of shabu from inside his silver-gray Honda Accord sedan. The confiscated shabu had a total worth of P337,000, according to the estimated value from the Dangerous Drugs Board.
The anti-drug operation was conducted in coordination with the Dumaguete Police, headed by Superintendent Jovito Atanacio.
