DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — Anti-illegal drugs operatives on Thursday scored one of the biggest hauls in anti-illegal drugs operations when they seized about P1.4 million worth of shabu in a raid at the house of the suspect in Barangay Looc, this city.
The raiding team consisted of members of the Provincial Intelligence Bureau-Special Operations Group, headed by Senior Inspector Jul Mohamad Jamiri, in coordination with the PDEA-Negros Oriental.
They seized 22 "bultos" of shabu and 12 smaller sachets of shabu-with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board-value of P1.4 million-shabu residues, several lighters, a digital weighing scale, a bundle of empty plastics for repacking purposes, and P13,420 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Operatives, bearing a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio Jr., got these items from the house of 56-year-old widow, Virginia Dacula Estologa y Dacula, who the law enforcers also arrested.
The search was witnessed by village chief Angelita Ragay who said she was surprised that Estologa is back to her illegal activities after being acquitted, due to technicality, and released from prison for an earlier case on illegal drugs.
Estologa, now detained, said the supply was delivered to her only on Wednesday by unknown persons. — (FREEMAN)
