Marchel P. Espina - The Freeman

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – The conjoined babies died two days after they were born in Calatrava town, Negros Occidental.

Conjoined twins, named Mary and Angel, who were connected at the chest and the abdomen, died at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Me-morial Regional Hospital in this city.

The doctors had been studying if it is safe to separate the twins, who were delivered by 30-year-old Maricel Banguiran of Barangay Lalong in Calatrava.

CLMMRH acting chief, Dr. Marlon Tabligan. said it may be impossible to separate the twins since they share one upper chamber in their heart and one liver.

The twins weighed four kilograms when delivered at the Calatrava District Hospital on Wednesday.
