Aquino visits wake of PB member, solon’s wife
BAYBAY CITY, Philippines – President Benigno Simeon Aquino III, accompanied by Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and Energy Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla, made a side trip to Baybay City after lunch in Palo, Leyte with the dignitaries invited to the 70th Leyte Gulf Landing anniversary celebration.
The president paid his last respects to the late Leyte Provincial Board Member Margarita Cellona-Cari, wife of Leyte 5th district Representative Jose Carlos Cari, who is the first cousin of Secretary Petilla.
The remains of Margarita lies in wake at the Cari Residence in Barangay Candadam. The interment is scheduled on October 22, Wednesday.
Margarita passed away on October 13 at around 1:30 a.m. in a hospital in Cebu City after she went comatose for two weeks from an aneurysm on her brain. She was 49.
