Leyte PB member, solon's wife passes away
BAYBAY CITY, Philippines — Leyte Provincial Board Member Margarita Cellona-Cari, the wife of Representative Jose Carlos Cari (4th district, Leyte), passed away early morning of Sunday (October 12) at the Perpetual Succor Hospital in Cebu City. She was 49.
The late "Margie," as family and friends fondly called her, suffered an aneurysm on her brain on September 17, while in Cebu City to do some last minute shopping for the golden wedding anniversary of her in-laws, Engineer Felipe and Baybay City Mayor Carmen Loreto-Cari on September 19.
She was rushed to the hospital after complaining of a splitting headache, but fell into a coma. She initially showed signs of coming out from her coma, but slipped back. Her condition continued to deteriorate after that.
Margie, a native of Baybay City, was an ex-officio member of the PB, being the president of the Provincial League of Councilors in Leyte.
She is survived by her husband-congressman and children Jetka, Carl, Jules and Guia.
