BACOLOD CITY , Philippines — The provincial government of Negros Occidental is now extending help to the Negrense families and relatives of the Filipinos, who are working in Libya or in any countries with conflict situation.
Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan said the Capitol, through its Public Affairs Division, will open a hotline to enable Negrenses to contact their relatives in Libya.
The PAD will find a way to connect a line either through the Philippine Embassy or consular offices in Libra and other countries, now in crisis situation.
Earlier, Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella said there are 11 overseas Filipino workers from this city who are now working in Libya.
The mayor had called on the families of these OFWs to coordinate with his office so the city government can extend assistance to them.
Meanwhile, Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said OFWs can leave Libya even without an exit visa. (FREEMAN)
