ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A syndicate, reportedly Cebu-based, engaged in pornographic websites had victimized 13 more female teenagers in Iloilo, as confirmed by the National Bureau of Investigation-Region 6.
NBI-6 special investigator John Katipunan said four out of these 13 girls are now in custody of the bureau for investigation.
Katipunan said this syndicated group was responsible behind the uploading of nude pictures of their victims to several pornographic websites, the market of which has also expanded abroad, especially California in the USA. “We could not however divulge other information to the public so as not to jeopardize NBI-6’s ongoing investigation,” he said.
Since last week, several nude photos of a girl wearing a school uniform of the Iloilo National High School have been going viral.
INHS principal Nordy Siason tapped the help of the NBI-6 to solve the cyber prostitution, although he considered the case of the girl as isolated. “She is not our student. Whatever her purpose of wearing the uniform is already beyond our control,” he said.
Meanwhile, the girl’s aunt admitted that her niece was only a victim of the syndicate and that the photo was taken two months ago. Her niece’s life is now even in danger after she received several threats from unidentified sources following the discovery of the pornographic websites. (FREEMAN)
