DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — More suspected drug dealers were arrested in a series of police buy-bust operations in Negros Oriental as the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office vowed to continue without letup its operations against the illegal drugs trade.
Around 6:15 p.m. Monday, operatives of the PNP’s Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG), led by Inspector Ryan Jay Orapa, and the Dumaguete Police, in cooperation with the Philippine Enforcement Drug Agency, arrested Christopher Adalid Elentorio, alias Topher, in a buy-bust operation at Cadawinonan, this city.
Elentorio was arrested after he allegedly sold one big transparent plastic sachet containing shabu, with an estimated street value of P12,000, to an undercover agent, said Orapa. However, his companion, a certain Ivanhoe Inocando, managed to elude arrest after sensing the police operation was underway.
Elentorio’s arrest was a follow-up operation after the arrest of Rommel Gumera Casuco, alias Abay, also in a buy-bust transaction in the same housing project at Cadawinona, during which some P100,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated from the suspect.
By 9 p.m. that same day, PAIDSOTG operatives and San Jose Police personnel conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation in San Jose, Negros Oriental resulting in the arrest of Julian Anggot Talledo, who sold to an undercover agent P25,000 worth of shabu. (FREEMAN)
