Drug bust traps seller's collector

CEBU, Philippines - A collector for a shabu supplier who is operating inside the National Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa was arrested today in Dumaguete City, following a buy-bust operation.

Nabbed with one "bulto" of shabu with a street value of P25,000 is a certain Carlo Gerosano Javier, alias "Budok", 25 years old, single, resident of Zone III, in Barangay Looc, this city.

In an interview, Javier vehemently denied ownership of the confiscated item, accusing the anti-drugs operatives of planting the evidence.

He, however, admitted being the collector of a certain Danny Alayon, who was busted several years ago in Dumaguete for peddling illegal drugs and is serving a life sentence in Muntinlupa.  The suspect considered this a sideline for his meager income as a Piyaya vendor at the port of Dumaguete, being paid P1,000 for every collection that is deposited at the bank.

Javier further disclosed his weekly collection for shabu being disposed in Dumaguete is P150,000 as  minimum and can go higher, the amount of which is deposited every Mondays and Fridays through BDO.  He said a female-member of the organization is in-charge of depositing the amount to the bank. — (FREEMAN)
