Marañon wants NFA relocated
BACOLOD CITY , Philippines — Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. reiterated his call to the National Food Administration (NFA) to move out of its present location to the provincial government lot at Brgy. Tabunan in Bago City.
Marañon pointed out the need for the NFA to relocate because the access road leading to its warehouse at Gatuslao Street in Bacolod was included in the contract of sale between the Capitol and Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), for the latter’s P6.2-billion project.
The 3.6587-hectare property was sold to ALI for P750 million by the provincial government, but the NFA insisted it will not transfer its location to a public property in Bago City, which is far and isolated, according to Procopio Trabajo, NFA-Bacolod manager. (FREEMAN)
