DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — The Bureau of Internal Revenue in this city, known as Revenue District Office 79 (RDO-79), might fail to reach its 2013 target tax collection of P1.9 billion.
RDO-79 chief Carolina Carcullas said the total revenues for her office, which covers the provinces of Negros Oriental and Siquijor, could not yet be ascertained due electronic filing by taxpayers that need to be consolidated yet.
However, this early, she was apprehensive that the target goal for 2013 may not be meet at all. As of last December, RDO-79 collected only P1.8 billion and there was a slim chance of getting the P1 million shortfall. (FREEMAN)
