DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines – After a 3-day gathering in preparation for the executive-legislative agenda (ELA) for this city for 2014 to 2016, city officials are now looking at the possibility of replicating some local government practices of Mandaue City in Cebu province.
Dumaguete Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria said he and other officials were shown certain practices in Mandaue City that are worth copying, if funds would allow it. “We saw how Mandaue City is being run and we are impressed,†he said.
He cited Mandaue’s P30-million fund for a closed circuit television (CCTV) system as well as the P40-million geographical information system.
On the 3rd day of the ELA workshop, Dumaguete officials discussed concerns and issues faced by the city government and probable solutions to help guide the executive and legislative bodies on what to do through the next three years of his administration, the mayor added.
Sagarbarria attended the ELA workshop in Mandaue, along with Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling Sr., city councilors, department heads and other key city officials. (FREEMAN)
