Motorcycle-truck collision kills three
JORDAN, GUIMARAS , Philippines — Three men died Wednesday evening after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a truck in Barangay San Miguel of this town.
Declared dead on arrival at the hospital were motorcycle driver Reynaldo Gallego, 33, and his backriders Roden Gajo, 17 and Mark Anthony Toledo, 19, all residents of Barangay Ayangan in Sibunag town.
According to SPO1 Tagacay of the Jordan Police Station, Gallego was driving too fast along a dusty road. He overtook a delivery truck only to collide with another truck running at the opposite direction.
Gallego lost control of his motorcycle, which in turn skidded and directly went under the truck. The fatalities, all not wearing helmets, suffered head injuries.
The truck driver, Arnel Lapu-Lapu, surrendered to Jordan Police Station after the incident. (FREEMAN)
