TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines — Bohol province is now 90 percent ready for the May 13 elections, as all the 1,355 PCOS machines and the official ballots were already delivered here and the security deployment plan in place.
Comelec-Bohol OIC Lionel Marco Castillano said only the contingency PCOS machines are still lacking by now. He said the ballots were delivered on Monday and Tuesday straight to the city and municipal treasurers in the province, and that the cargo forwarder will take charge in dispatching the machines to the island-barangays.
The Provincial Joint Security Control Center (PJSCC), for its part, has finally completed the security deployment plan, presented during the command conference last April 27 at Camp Dagohoy here.
Castillano said he had instructed election officers around the province to conduct final briefing with their respective board of election inspectors and PCOS technicians, as well as the police and the military personnel in their areas for efficient coordination.
Meanwhile, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines and the two power distribution utilities-Bohol Electric Coop and the Bohol Light Company Inc.-presented the power outlook during the command conference last Saturday to assure stable power supply during Election Day.
NGCP had assured authorities of reliable power supply to the island-barangays and no power interruption during the polls. (FREEMAN)
