New chair of Reg 8’s biggest coop elected

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — Flordeliz Balderian Menzon was recently elected chairperson of Perpetual Help Credit Cooperative Inc, (PHCCI), the biggest multi-purpose credit cooperative in Eastern Visayas with a current total of 90,565 regular and associate members.

Flordeliz, wife of former Leyte vice governor and NLRC-7th division commissioner Aurelio Menzon, is a former regional manager of Pag-IBIG in Region 8. She also held the post of president of Region Eight Administrators League (REAL), an organization of heads of government agencies, and was deputy governor of Rotary Club District 3860-Zone 3 in Eastern Visayas.

Two of her children are politicians, reelectionist Vice Mayor Winston Menzon of Babatngon, Leyte, and 1st Councilman Michael Jude Menzon of Brgy. 109 (V & G Subd.) in Tacloban City.

Also elected to top posts in the 44-year-old PHCCI were lawyer Teresita Rojas as 1st vice chairperson and Evelyn Clarin, 2nd vice chair. —CONTRIBUTED ARTICLE
