ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Three ‘unfriendly’ Facebook accounts under the name of City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog are now circulating in the social network but the mayor confirmed these as bogus.
Mabilog denied maintaining any FB account because he has been busy with his political career and different affairs of the city government.
The reelectionist mayor believed that the persons behind these bogus accounts were already desperate over his higher poll survey result for the May 13 elections.
“Using those dirty words under my fake FB account is already a sign of desperation, just to destroy my reputation. This is already a sign of immaturity,†he said during yesterday’s press conference with members of the Iloilo City Hall Press Corps.
Mabilog asked his supporters, particularly City Hall employees, to ignore those accounts because those were the products of unprofessionalism being shown by immature people.
“I wished those who will be running for public office including their supporters to bring the campaign to a high level of professionalism and decency,†said Mabilog, a Liberal Party bet being challenged by businessman Rommel Ynion, a neophyte politician of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).
