DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — The Bureau of Fire Protection in this city is still conducting an investigation on the cause of the fire that gutted three houses in barangay Looc around 8:10 p.m. last Thursday.
Initial investigations showed that the fire started at the house of a certain Daisy Jean Tolentino. Due to strong winds, the fire spread quickly to the adjacent houses of Mario Granaderos and Emely Bahinting.
SFO1 Mario Sy, arson investigator, told The Freeman that the department received a telephone call informing about the fire incident in Looc.
Three fire trucks were immediately dispatched to the scene, and firefighters were able to control the fire quickly, but the three houses were gutted already.
No one was injured, but estimated cause of damaged was pegged at P120,000, said BFP officials.
Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria and his staff went immediately to the scene and gave relief goods and assistance to the victims with the help of the Looc barangay officials. (FREEMAN)
