“I am sure daghan mga Sano (Boholanos) who were victims, but whether Boholano or from other provinces they deserved special consideration especially the poor,” the director said.
Mendez said that if there will be payment for their investments, priority should be given to the poor and those small-time investors. “Luoy kaayo sila. Namasin nga makab-ot ila mga ambisyon makapalit sakyanan bag-o gamit sa balay, etc,” he said.
A Boholano businessman, who has made a fortune in franchising but now doing independently, bared that a lot Boholanos residing in this capital city of Zamboanga del Norte, were victims of the Aman scam.
The businessman, who asked not to be named, said some of the victims should themselves be blamed for the mess they’re in now because they failed to wonder why their money would earn about 400 to 500 percent within a span of short period.
He also said these Boholano victims came from as far as Cagayan de Oro City, capital of Misamis Oriental, Iligan City and Lanao provinces. (FREEMAN)
