CEBU, Philippines — After several operations in a span of just a week, the Police Regional Office-7 reported that its personnel confiscated over P36 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 148 individuals.

In their operations from September 13 to 20, 2024, the regional police seized a total of 5,407.54 grams of illegal drugs worth P36,768,824 and arrested 148 individuals all over the region.

One of those arrested was a 33-year-old male caught by operatives in a buy-bust operation with 1,200 grams of suspected shabu worth P8,160,000.00 last Sept.16, at L. Tudtud Street, Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

PRO-7 said that the pieces of evidence will be submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit for examination.

Likewise, the suspect is temporarily held at police's custodial facility and will face appropriate charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“This accomplishment is a testament of our aggressive intervention and efforts in eliminating the drug menace in Central Visayas with strict observance on the basic operational procedures,” said PRO-7 regional director Police Brigadier General Anthony Aberin, who commended the personnel involved in the operation.

Further, a total of 98 wanted persons were arrested in several operations, while 149 persons were also arrested in 132 illegal gambling operations.
