Tagalog usually means scam

BEWARE. A woman said she has been bothered by this mystery caller recently. The caller appears to be crying and in distress, as if to gain her sympathy. But her instincts were triggered when the caller began speaking in Tagalog and asking for money. It was not her first rodeo and she hung up.

“Tagbaw nako,” she later told a friend, “basta mag-Tinagalog gani, para nako scam na na."
