Humanity will surely lose

What is happening in the world today? Let's start in February of 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia's invasion of Ukraine is unreasonable and unacceptable. All the mentioned reasons are baseless and make no sense. The dictator Vladimir Putin only wants to rebuild the former Soviet Union under his rule. What he did not expect was the fierce defense of the Ukrainians of their country even though a large part of eastern and northern Ukraine was occupied by Russia in the first months. But Ukraine is gradually recovering its territory due to the strong support that Ukraine is getting from Western countries such as America, the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, and Norway. Ukraine has no plans to negotiate with Russia if it doesn't return the territory it has occupied since 2014.

Azerbaijan invaded the area of Nagorno-Karabakh which the two countries have been fighting over for a long time. But this September, Armenia was forced to surrender the said territory because Turkey supported the military of Azerbaijan. The Russian military tasked to keep the peace was useless. No surprise there.

Then, this October 7, Hamas, the terrorist group of Gaza, attacked the country of Israel. On the first day, many missiles were fired at several cities in Israel. The wall separating the two countries was blown up. Israel was caught completely off-guard. Hamas killed many, including civilians. That's how terrorists are. They care not about their targets, be it military or civilian. But on the second day of the war, Israel immediately retaliated bombing many buildings in Gaza. Israel has vowed for Hamas to pay dearly for what it has started. I don't know what Hamas was thinking. They know how powerful and well-equipped the Israeli military is. They knew that Israel's retaliation would be severe. They put their civilians at risk of Israel’s wrath.

The terrorist group in Lebanon, Hezbollah, is preparing to enter the conflict so Israel is also strengthening its northern border. America, a strong ally of Israel, has already sent warships to the Mediterranean Sea to prevent the conflict from spreading out of Israel’s borders. Countries like Iran and most of the Middle East support Hamas and the Palestinians. No surprise there.

Here in our part of the world, we know China is itching to regain Taiwan. But for now, China is engaging in intimidation. China also knows Taiwan is an ally of America, so it is still acting on the side of caution. Serbia and Kosovo, two countries with a long history of war much like India and Pakistan, are also on the brink of war. All because of territory.

Some say we are very close to World War III because of current conflicts and situations. I pray it does not happen. The whole world is sure to lose. Humanity will surely lose.
