CAN’T COUNT? An old-timer bought P95 worth of items from a family-owned store. He paid ?100 and expected quick change. To his surprise the teenage boy who attended to his sale still went back to the counter, got a calculator, and punched in how much he should give as change.

“Grabeha, kasayon na ato i-calculator pa g’yud?” he said. He later added he hoped it wasn’t a sign of the deteriorating education in the Philippines.
