It is the street parallel to V. Urgello Street starting at President Sergio Osmeña Sr. Boulevard within Barangay Sambag 2.
It is named after Visitacion Veloso Espina, the wife of Vicente Urgello (honoree of V. Urgello Street) owner of the large tracts of land where the V. Urgello Street and Private Road are situated, the same with Visitacion Street.
Vicente Urgello was from Carcar, Cebu, and was a child of Francisco Base Urgello and Telesfora Sarmiento. Vicente became a lawyer on October 1, 1907 and was elected congressman of the old 3rd Congressional District of Cebu in 1916.
Visitacion Espina was the daughter of Harriolfo Espina and Vicenta Veloso (the daughter of Jose Veloso and Florentina Faller). Visitacion and Vicente had the following children: Corazon (who married Jacob Tagorda), Jesus (who married Concheta Lovella), Lourdes (who married Bernardo Teves, the Cebuano mayor of Davao City), Angeles (who married Cresenciano Tongoy), Milagros, Manuel (who married Milagros Valenzuela), and Pilar (who married Enrique Arcenas).
The daughter of Visitacion and Vicente by the name of Lourdes, who married Bernardo Teves (the son of Gavino Teves and Evarista Tamayo) who originally came from Cebu, became Davao City mayor on January 11, 1949 when he was appointed by President Elpidio Quirino. Bernardo was dean of the Visayan Institute (founded in 1919 by Don Vicente Gullas) now the University of the Visayas, and was admitted to the Bar on February 4, 1933.
Lourdes and Bernardo had the following children: Bernardo Teves Jr., Gabino (who married Letecia Cabaguio), Camila (who married Henry Frias), Victoria (who married Pedro Durano), Aurora (who married Ricardo Zulueta), Sonia (who married Romero Valenzuela III), and Perla Teves.
The siblings of Visitacion were: Remedios (who married Pastor Noel), Salud, Soledad (who married Dan Gonzales), Mercedes (who married Arsenio Madarang), Luis (who married Concepcion Mejia), Jose (who married Aurora Son), Antonio, and Asuncion (Juan Peralta).
Luis, the brother of Visitacion, became a Doctor of Medicine and served Cebu City as mayor and Mandaue as municipal president.
